Crystal Report Error in Visual Studio 2010 on Windows 7 x64

I got two weird errors when I tried to run a test report built by the wizard in visual studio 2010 using C# on a window 7 x64 machine.

The type initializer for 'CrystalDecisions.ReportSource.ReportSourceFactory' threw an exception.

And

The type initializer for 'CrystalDecisions.Shared.SharedUtils' threw an exception.

In my case these issues were solved when I went to

Solution Explorer -> right click project -> properties -> Build -> General -> Platform target -> x86

note it’s x86 even though i’m on a x64 box

  1. Thanks, this worked for me!

  2. Thanks, you save my proyect :D

  3. :razz: that shit worked for me too, and Im an x64

  4. Thanks, worked… but the time to load a report is very long…. Im a x64 and change target cpu x86.

  5. perfect, thank you

  6. or install the 64bit runtime.

    Crystal reports support has always been dire, but SAP have taken it to a new nadir.
